A question about crayons...

These crayons I just bought for Ethan because I'm not sure what shape is right for toddler hands. Previously we were using Crayola's triangle shaped crayons. The colours are gorgeous! But I thought I'd try these thicker ones. The tips break off every time Ethan and I drop one. VERY ANNOYING and could pose a choking hazard I'm guessing.

So what do other people use?

We've got these great rectangular bees wax ones that I love and are super easy for Lily to draw with. They are also really strong and non toxic. I'll look up the brand for you.

Eek, no idea! Why don't you just break all the tips off to start with? Then, nothing to break. You won't be doing any detail work, but at least no choking hazards!

We use them, and I'm just as frustrated as you! We have a whole box of broken bits.

Hi Anna
Its Treacy from Station Street! I was reading my friend's blog and clicked on modern cloth nappies and you came up. What a coincidence. I really did lose your contact details, which I was sorry about.
Anyway to answer your question we were just give these http://www.crayola.com/products/list.cfm?categories=BEGINNINGS,PAINT they are the same but crayons by a friend (an occupational therapist) for Noah's 1st birthday (today).
I know you can get them at Kmart, Target Big W etc.
I hope you, Ethan and Steve are well.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to this! The crayons we use are Stockmar Beeswax Crayons. You can buy them at a range of places including Winterwood Toys - http://www.winterwoodtoys.com.au/shop/scdproducts.asp?CatID=35

They are great!
